| Abstract | Neste trabalho foi estudada a climatologia da precipitação da região tropical e subtropical para o período de 1998 a 2008 usando os dados de satélite TRMM. A região tropical, entre 5°N e 5°S, foi a que apresentou maior precipitação anual, e sobre o Brasil, a região de máxima está em aproximadamente 50°W com precipitação anual acima de 2700 mm/ano. O estudo do ciclo anual das chuvas mostrou que apenas a região sul do Brasil não apresentou regime diferenciado durante o ano. O período chuvoso nas áreas estudadas ocorreu entre dezembro e fevereiro, exceto sobre a Amazônia onde as chuvas começaram em janeiro e estenderam-se até abril. O período da tarde foi onde ocorreram Os picos de máxima precipitação na maioria das áreas ocorreu no período da tarde e sobre a África e Amazônia, a variação diurna é maior. ABSTRACT: In this work the precipitation climatology in the tropical and subtropical region was analyzed for the period 1998 to 2008 using data from TRMM satellite. The tropical region, between 5°N and 5°S, presented the highest annual rainfall and in the Amazon region the largest annual accumulated rainfall was approximately 2700 mm/year. When the annual cycle was examined only the southern region of Brazil showed no significant annual rainfall difference during the year. The rainy season in the areas occurred between December and February, except on the Amazon region where the rains began in January and extended up to April. The rainfall peaks occurred in the afternoon and this peak is higher in areas of Africa and Amazonia. |
